Claire Rudd
Head of Governance, Horse Racing Ireland

Claire Rudd is Company Secretary and Head of Risk & Compliance with Horse Racing Ireland. Horse Racing Ireland is the semi-state body responsible for the governance, administration, promotion and development of the horse racing industry in Ireland, a country renowned for its thoroughbred success. Claire has introduced polices and processes to enhance governance and increase the effectives of the Board. 

Claire has worked in private industries such as telecommunications and FMCG. Claire is an assessor for the Good Governance Awards in Ireland seeking to recognise and encourage responsible governance and transparency among non-profit organisations. 

Claire is a professional accountant and holds an MBA together with postgrad diplomas most recently in ESG.

Sam Green-Armytage
Operations Officer, SGA

As the Operations Officer for the Sports Governance Academy, Sam is responsible for the delivery of its service, knowledge base, events, and training courses. He has a Masters in Sports Business & Leadership from Loughborough University and has completed the Chartered Governance Institute's Certificate in Sports Governance. He has a wide knowledge and interest in Sporting Policy & Problems, specifically in the areas of governance, environmental sustainability, and artificial intelligence.

Sam also plays hockey and cricket for his local teams and is an advocate for sport as a force for good in the community.
